ODN Poetry Contest

As some of you are aware, the process of the last poetry contest was less than smooth. For this reason, I have revamped the system and the rules.

The process will go as follows:
<hr>

Submission
-Lasting from Thursday, May 12, until Wednesday, May 18
-Submit in the Submission Thread (http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/showthread.php?p=81097#post81097)

Guidelines:
-2 poems per member
-Please include a title of some sort for your poem, even if it's [no title].
-All normal writing forum rules (http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2399) apply.
Note: Submissions have ended.

Nomination *
-Nomination will occur in the Nomination Thread (http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/showthread.php?p=81901#post81901)
-Nomination will occur in the form of a list of your 3 favorite poems from those submitted, in no specific order. For example:

example
"1) 'ABC', by poetA. It had great imagery, and the flow was terrific.
2) 'DEF' by poetB. The rhythm kept up great.
3) 'GHI' by poetC. I enjoyed the metaphors and the tone used."

-Poems should have a short explanation as to why you chose them. They can be longer, if you so choose. Your explanations may influence others to choose the same poem.
-The poems which proceed to voting will be the 6 with the most nominations.
-Any person may have one or both of their pieces in the final voting.
-No person may nominate their own piece.

*There will only be a nomination phase if there are more than 8 entries. If there are 8 or less, we will go straight to a voting thread with those poems.

Voting
-Voting will take place in the Voting Thread (http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3184), to be created by myself.
-It will be as a poll, so each person may only have 1 vote.
-It will be a public poll, and no one may vote for a poem they submitted.
-The winner will be the poem with the most votes.
-In the voting thread, feel free to post why you think your poem or another person's poem should receive votes, or why you voted as you did.

As I am running this contest, I will abstain from voting, except in the event of a tie. I will, however, submit and nominate.
<hr>
The only things I have yet to decide are the lengths of the nomination and voting periods.

Feel free to post any comments or questions here, rather than cluttering up the submission or nomination threads. Good luck to all :D
