I refreshed - they are still listed twice here: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 3 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

It appears to be just today's events.

No mention of 'tora, tora, tora' on the 'day in history' section displayed on the home page I see.

I see now. Events are listed twice due to an error in the db that lists them twice as individual entries.

Also, Pearl Harbor IS on the list F&N. Just click "View All events" at the bottom of the box.

OK, this has to be wrong because Hannukah starts 12/25:

Upcoming Events for the Next 7 Day(s)
Chanukah: December 8th, 2005

</TD></TR><TR vAlign=top><TD class=alt2>Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, (also called Chanuka and Hannakuh) celebrates victory from Greek religious persecution. The Jewish victory was led by the Macabees in the year 167 B.C. Upon returning to the temple to rededicate it and relight the Menorah, the Macabees found only one small flask of oil, enough to light the Menorah for just one day. However, the flask of oil lasted lasted eight days, Hence the celebration lasts eight days. This is also why it is called the Festival of Lights.

Chanukah is a happy and joyous festivity. There is no fasting no eulogies, and no sacrifice. Small gifts are given to family and friends each of the eight days of Chanukah.
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The reason for this is simple...whoever set up the calendar was assuming that Hannukah started the same day that it did in 2004 for every year. Because of the Hebrew Calandar is Lunar-solar, the position of Hebrew holidays fluctuate from year to year, but the Calendar-maker did not figure that in.

Well, I had to add the actual dates in, but it doesn't really allow me to say that it starts at sunset on December 25, so I left it as 6pm (Central time), even though I know that this is not a satisfactory start time. Also, the original event is still there. Perhaps Apok can edit it, but I cannot.

EDIT: I just noticed that there are two events entered for it on December 25, one by Jaime and one by me. Jaime's has the advantage of not having to state the time because of the rigid adherence of the Calendar to Gregorian standards (ignoring the fact that some Calendars work differently), and mine has the advantage of being a ranged event.

I WAS JUST SUPRISED TO SEE THAT IT WASN'T UP ON THE HOME-PAGE.

Fruity, I think the entries in the home-page 'synopsis' actually refresh, showing only a few at a time and then cycling through them. Next time, try refreshing your browser; I'm pretty sure that you'll find they change. :)

We aren't using that feature any more. I let it expire. It's still there, but with pop-ups and advertising. Before, I had paid a fee to remove that. I let it run out due to lack of interest.
