I Almost Left ODN, As I Have Been Diagnosed with a Terrible Illness

I have been diagnosed with Rep Fever.

Rep Fever is an idomatic term, quite similar to Cabin Fever, for an irrational reaction that takes place when a person is isolated from the ODN reputation system, but continues to post repeatedly, for an extended period of time. Likewise, symptoms include restlessness, irritability, unexplained chuckling, and distrust of other people.

However, by far, the most prominent symptom is an almost uncontrollable, insatiable urge to fill forums with spectacularly asinine posts.

The sort of shockingly stupid, deeply annoying posts that leave readers feeling as though they've bit into a Lordinfamoussnappycomeback timothymallowonalandlinedisinterested sandwich. The sort of posts that warrant neg reps that read like break up texts. Example: "It should be completely (expletive deleted) why I'm doing this." Or: "You just don't (expletive deleted) get it, do you?" Or: "(expletive deleted) you." The sort of posts that get a "blank you" instead of a "thank you." The sort of posts that'll have Dio permaban you for for "epically failing"... at life.

When I was first diagnosed, I thought about how it would affect my friends, family and loved ones. I almost left ODN. I felt scared, nervous and angry about the unwanted changes Rep Fever would bring to my life. But I forced myself to swallow my pride, go public, and present my story to the ODN community. In his darkest hour, Hermanleadread became a hero.

And, now, a final note about prevention.

Members of the The Divine Secrets of the ODN Sisterhood group (AKA, The Unofficial Hermanleadread fan club), do not fear. Rest assured: One cannot contract Rep Fever via intercourse. In fact, the best way - the only way, in fact - to avoid coming down with Rep Fever is to have intercourse with someone who already has Rep Fever. I call this "Vaccination by Ejaculation," and I am sure Dr. House, AKA Dio, will confirm the medical validity of this term. You may make appointments via PM. Hurry, while supplies last!

Well, it's strictly a theory at this point. I'll have to perform numerous tests to confirm.

Indeed. JUST a theory. Like evolution and gravity.

I donated my liver to alcohol research, so I may as well devote the rest of my body to science. Count me in as a research subject.

Allo, you don't believe your great grandfather was a monkey, do you?

    Okay then. Evolution = debunked.

Why didn't I think of that?

You should be nominated for Nobel.

Urine tests. But Herman was up all last night studying for the Urine test and is certain that he will still fail. He says he has a hard time remembering dates of events.

I know. Or, at least, ODN Debater of the Year, after the resounding defeat I just handed you.

Woah woah woah. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I think you should be content with the Nobel Prize for now but I'm sure if you keep doing what you're doing, you will graduate to ODN Debater of the Year someday too.

Allo, you're going to have to deal with it - he beat you.

God told me, in a vision, so you know it's true.
