    ODN in published scientific research

Some how I ran across a paper in the Journal of Informetrics (not sure how since this is not even remotely my field) that actually uses an old debate between me, Wannaextreme, FruitandNut, Snoop, K. Browning, and Goldphoenix as data in its research.

I've attached the paper. Our usernames show up in table 2, towards the end.

I never knew "discussants" was a word. Neat.

Re: ODN in published scientific research

I think that the article's use of this site is a pretty strong statement to the quality of the arguments that take place here. If he had used a different site that's less strict about flaming and off-topic posts and the like, I wonder whether his results would have been as precise.

I wonder whether the researchers created accounts on ODN and still visit here? Maybe they are reading this thread right now!

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

GAY JOKE! BAM! OH, I'm a roll today.

But I think the biggest question still remains: Of all the threads on ODN with high quality debate, WHY global warming?

They did you guys a disservice by not showing the actual text (though I know it wasn't apparently that relevant to the study), that was a damn good back and forth.
