I marveled at the priest's voice and ability to put feeling into the song, and I'm all for priests who have the voice for it singing from the altar, or anywhere else in the church during worship, but the song lyrics count, not just the melody. It's a lament, a grief-stricken durge from a soul who has touched the face of God only to fall from heaven, cold and broken. How singing it in that location and situation amounts to "changing tradition in a creative way" escapes me completely.
