    Hello To The Board

My name is Jack Hectorman and thanks for having me and I'm glad to be here.
I have been reading along at ODN for over a year and decided to join.

I am a family man, husband, father, grandfather, married young "until death do us part"
now living happily ever after with lovely wife, children, and many grandchildren. I am
a Christian Conservative Presbyterian. I have hopes for a gradually realized and very
incremental worldwide success of Christendom and Christian Conservatism as the
millenniums roll forward. (We have a very long way to go, that's for sure.)

I'd describe myself as a determined optimist, herald of faith, hope, tough love, political
conflict, carnivorous anti-vegetarianism .. lol .. and conspicuous consumerism [it creates
jobs, plus its joyous to overflow your shopping cart, same day, at Sam's Club and
    Walmart .. lol ..

I am rather addicted to life, mind-stimulating movies, exhilarating music,
interest-gripping books, classical music, unending political conflict, and five-dollar
Starbucks caramel lattes with extra-syrup, piled-high with whipped cream, caramel
drizzle, and sprinkled cinnamon on top ;-) Greatly enjoy the music of Andrea Bocelli,
Sarah Brightman, Andre' Rieu, Anna Netrebko, Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and
anything David Foster produces, eg, Andrea Bocelli concerts. `

    I like this quote:
"Only the dead have seen an end to war, and politics is war by another name."

I enjoy reading, William Lane Craig is interesting. Next book I plan to read is
"Housekeeping" by Marilynne Robinson and I just ordered her "The Death of
    Adam: Essays on Modern Thought."

Thanks again for the opportunity to be a member here at ODN.

Welcome, you sound like a gentlemen I'd enjoy crossing sabers with. I look forward to seeing what you have to say.

Its a fun board if you can keep a light heart about serious subjects.

Dionysus, Sigfried, and eye4magic.. thanks for the welcome.

Eye4magic, a very nice welcome, cool pics, and the yes-yes lad is super cool.

Bocelli's last concert out on DVD was Love In Portofino, its classic Bocelli and
a delight. I thought I'd mention it with a YouTube link just in case you missed
    it.

Sigfried, I will do my utmost to stay lighthearted. I have found the web to be
an enjoyable experience when I stay humorous and happy-hearted.

You all have some very impressive debates on this forum, I was reading along
in that amazingly detailed thread titled "WLC's Argument Against an Actual
Infinity." That was quite a read.

    Welcome to the boards.
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Welcome aboard. It's been a few months and you haven't posted very much, although hopefully you're just lurking.

'Twood seem we're polar opposites, as I'm a Leftist and an atheist, and I oppose wholeheartedly the spread of more religious fervor and capitalism, I don't particularly care for William Lane Craig or find his arguments very compelling (I think Alvin Plantinga is a much better Christian apologist although his philosophy I find to be in error), I find consumerism to be equally bad if not put in check, and if anything I'm quite pessimistic with regards to humanity's current trajectory. Also I don't like opera. =P

welcome, and look forward to reading you.
I apologize to anyone waiting on a response from me. I am experiencing a time warp, suddenly their are not enough hours in a day. As soon as I find a replacement part to my flux capacitor regulator, time should resume it's normal flow.
