    Re: Collusion!

It appears at least one more aspect of the initial hysteria has been put to bed outside of the Mueller Report. A Federal Judge dismissed the Democratic National Committee's lawsuit against President Trump and members of his campaign related to the release of DNC emails by Wikileaks with prejudice. Translation of the last part for the non-lawyers here, it means the DNC is not allowed to refile. Dismissing a case with prejudice usually means the judge doesn't just think the case is unfounded, it means that the basic reasoning of the case is flawed and no amount of new evidence is going to change it.

Soundbite of note, the judge called the DNC's case "entirely divorced from the facts.”

This finding has two major implications. The most important, imo is that it reinforces that you cannot be sued for somethign someone else does. If this case had gone the other way there would be some very troubling precedent for news agencies that "leak" information. The second is that it also puts to bed the wikileaks/Trump collusion argument as the judge specifically ruled that there was no established connection either in matter of fact or inference.
